Right after the last frosts are gone and the new spring sun is yellow warm, the Spring Cheeries come. Tiny and elusive, they are hard to spot. Impossible, really, when they don't want to be seen.

They love to follow you when you're out on a walk, when they're sure you're alone and have no camera or sketch book. Sometimes they'll fly by your nose or chirp into your ear if you come close to their nests that are carefully carved into a spring buds.

Cheeries will let you see them if they're sure your heart is as unfrozen as the new spring. When you're sure the winter ice has melted from your heart and the deep cold places of your soul have warmed up past 32 degrees, that's the time to go looking for Spring Cheeries.
