Sometimes the Process is the Point

walnut_shells_sm.jpg These walnut shells are not drawn perfectly. I left out a lot of detail, the shadows aren’t quite right, and my values are off. That’s ok. It’s close enough.

You can make yourself nuts (excuse the pun) by trying to draw things too perfectly. I think it’s better to have drawn a thing imperfectly than to never have drawn it at all because, many times, the point of drawing is the process of drawing itself.
