Shiny Ornament Drawing in Six Steps

Shiny Ornament

Shiny ornaments are challenging to draw because of all the reflections. Recently I challenged the members of my forum to draw a shiny ornament and I’ve drawn one, too. I scanned my drawing at six different points so you could see how I went about drawing it.To keep things simple, I chose a round, gold colored ornament. I placed it in lighting that cast one clear shadow, got comfortable, and started to draw.

Ornament Step One

To start, I drew a circle and added a cap. Neither the cap or the circle are perfect and that’s OK. This is just for fun.
