A friend of mine, who is just learning how to draw, needs some help with how to lay down value quickly. I’m making some very simple technique lessons for her and I’ll put them on my site and tell you about them here when they’re ready. Some people are born doodles and learned how to handle a pencil early on. Those who come to drawing latter in life, though, sometimes need a little extra instruction in that area. As more and more young artists create their art via computer, I wonder how many of them are going to miss the simple pleasure of picking up a pencil and doodling.
