The girls were back today. I’ve written about them before. There are three of them and I guess they’re about 10 or 12 years old. I first saw them last year, late in the summer, standing on a big boulder, right fists raised in the air, facing the road and staring straight ahead, obviously protesting something.<\/p>\n

Today, they were taking a break when I drove by, sitting on their boulder drinking sodas. One of them still had her right fist raised, though, so that passers by would know they were still serious. And I believe they are.<\/p>\n

I don’t ever want to know what they’re protesting, I just want to hold that image in my mind and let it mean different things. May they always be that passionate, may they always be that brave, and “may they be, forever young”.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
