I’m drawing Queen Anne’s Lace with 18 inches of snow on the ground, and it feels wonderful. I forget about how cold it is and how long it is until Spring as I sculpt each flower and shade each feathery patch of foliage.<\/p>\n
It’s a very simple scene of my mailbox surrounded by Queen Anne’s Lace, with a fence, a field, a line of trees, and a moody sky above, but the intricate mosaic of Lace and leaves is taking a very long time to draw. I enjoy drawing each section in phases, bringing it into clearer focus with each step. I feel like a snail feeling my way up, over, and down each stem, leaf, and flower.<\/p>\n
I think that’s the way this scene should be drawn and I hope people can sense the slow blooming love I’ve put into each stroke. After this piece is done, I want to place it in a loving home like I would a kitten or a puppy. Maybe I’ll put an ad in the paper, “Tenderly Created Art, very reasonably priced to the right home.
