I have a technique for turning on my creativity that I\u2019d like to share with you. I call it "Scrambled Eggs" because you have to give your mind a little time to \u201ccook\u201d the idea between \u201cstirrings.\u201d <\/p>\n

Here is how it works:<\/p>\n

1. Put the eggs into the pan and light a fire under them. (Bring to mind the area you need to be creative in.)
2. Stir the eggs. (Ask your mind to give you any idea at all about that area.)
3. Look at what stirs up without judgment. (No matter what your mind \u201cgives\u201d you, tell it \u201cthank you\u201d and \u201cthat has possibilities.\u201d)
4. Let the eggs cook a little while longer. (Let your mind rest for a few seconds.)
5. Stir the eggs again and accept what has formed without judgment. (Again, say, \u201cthank you\u201d and \u201cthat has possibilities.\u201d)
6. Repeat until eggs are done.<\/p>\n

It usually goes something like this for me:<\/p>\n

1. I want to think of some new subject to draw.
2. I ask my mind to think of something.
3. Six dogs sitting around a table playing poker and smoking cigars comes to mind. (Painted on black velvet.) I say \u201cthank you, that has possibilities.\u201d
4. I let my mind rest for a few seconds.
5. I ask again and I see Elvis Presley (in his later years) painted on black velvet. Again, I say, \u201cthank you, that has possibilities.\u201d
6. I let my mind rest for a few seconds.
7. I ask again and I remember a reference photo that I\u2019ve forgotten about that would make a great drawing. I say, \u201cthank you, thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The trick, of course, is not judging your creative mind. <\/p>\n
