Drawings by Carol Rosinski

I’ve always made small or miniature art.

The humble pencil is my medium because its simplicity inspires me to look deeply beneath the surface. Drawing with pencil requires that I lift up the veil of reality to peek at the structure of the universe beneath. All of my drawings are small scale because I draw them held close to my heart, and just a few inches from the end of my nose.

I’m comfortable working like this and it seems to be what I’m made to do. I draw every detail of the scene in miniature and each piece I make has many hours of work in it. I enjoy creating each drawing very much.
